Iodine and breast feeding

It’s well known that iodine is essential to creation of thyroid hormones. But it is also essential in the growth of normal breast tissue and essential in the cognitive development of a nursing baby. Including small amounts of iodine rich foods in the diet is important to ensure the milk is sufficient for a babies requirement.
