Made for Mothers Sweet Kitchari is a heavenly way to start your day, or if you are craving a sweet, nourishing meal or snack. A layering of mung dal and white rice simmered in coconut cream, with coconut flakes toasted in chai spice and a dash of maple syrup on top. Finished with fruits of the season. This draws on Ayurvedic principles and will be a sweet and comforting addition to your meal repertoire.
Moving with the seasons, we include figs and pears in autumn. Pears and rhubarb winter. Berries in spring. And mango and pineapple in summer.

Warm your Sweet Kitchari to a simmer, stirring regularly, then take it off the heat, cool and consume. I like to consume my Sweet Kitchari as is. I also recommend adding your favourite selection of nuts and seeds.
