Japanese Shichimi

A lover of the details in life. Which extends to the details in cuisine. From a flavour perspective and nutrition standpoint, this is a fabulous little addition to your pantry.

Shichimi is a super tasty little food prep and a fantastic addition to a cup of broth and broth based cooking with rice or noodles.

 

Ingredients

3 tbsp nori krinkles

2 tbsp sesame seeds

1 tbsp chilli flakes

1 tbsp Himalayan rock salt

 

Method

I used a few tablespoons of nori krinkles (shredded nori sheets work too) + few tablespoons of b&w sesame seeds lightly toasted in a pan + tablespoon of chilli flakes + tablespoon Himalayan rock salt. Ginger, pepper and orange peel would also be delicious additions.
