Accepting the flow of community love and the support that follows

With the intention of instilling a more supportive postpartum recovery, Made for Mothers is here to love and nourish you. Embracing the ways of Indigenous cultures world over. Accepting the flow of community love and the support that follows.
Many indigenous cultures teach that all beings are interconnected, receiving help is participating in the sacred flow between the collective community.
Common thread across indigenous cultures:
Needing support is expected
Vulnerability increases worth, not diminishes it
Care is spiritual work
Community health matters more than individual independence
East Asian
The core belief is balance, harmony, and restoration. There is structured postpartum care (e.g. zuo yue zi, sanhujori). And the mother is treated as energetically vulnerable and family and community step in automatically. Support is preventative medicine.
Indigenous Australian
Support is understood as law and not charity or help, but obligation rooted in kinship and spirit.
African communal
To suffer alone is seen as a break in harmony, not a personal failure.
Andean (Quechua & Aymara)
Believe in Ayni, sacred reciprocity. Where support is expected and cyclical. Today you receive, tomorrow you give. Care is woven into daily life, and not separated into services.
