Kitchari
Lightly spiced & complimented with sautéed mushrooms, Made for Mothers Kitchari is perfect for when you are feeling under the weather or in need of a cleanse. A staple healing food in Ayurveda, it is believed to balance the doshas, detoxify the body & purify the digestive system.
Kitchari is used in an ancient Ayurvedic cleanse to reignite the fire, or Agni, in the digestive system. The simplicity of this meal allows energy to be better spent on detoxifying and healing, and pre-soaked mung-dal is included for its ability to remove toxins from the intestine. MFMs signature 'Botanical Broth' has been added to enhance the flavour of this meal and because it's a micronutrient rich, liver loving, nutritive kitchen essential.
MFMs restorative curries are handcrafted in small batches with careful consideration given to the sourcing of everything in the pot. We use organic produce from small local farms.

Serving Suggestions
Warm your Kitchari by bringing it to a slight boil, stirring regularly, then immediately take it off the heat, cool and consume. I like to consume my Kitchari as is. I also recommend adding herbs like coriander and fennel or spicing it up with a little chilli. You can add a side of leafy greens or brassica vegetables like broccoli for a more substantial meal.
